BBSB signs pact with BEO to use facilities

8 September 2017

BINTULU: Biport Bulkers Sdn Bhd (BBSB) is now providing services to five palm oil refineries.

Yesterday it signed an agreement with Borneo Edible Oils (BEO) Sdn Bhd, to allow the company to use BBSB’s delivery and storage facilities at Bintulu Port.

Group chief executive officer of Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (BPHB), Datuk Mohammad Medan Abdullah, said the signing of the agreement would strengthen the position of BBSB as the main gateway or outlet for vegetable oil delivery in Sarawak.

“What matters is the strong and proactive cooperation and relationship with each other in terms of requirement, expectations and always working towards win-win situations between the two companies.

“I assure you that BBSB management will continue to offer unwavering support to its customers to ensure their operations are always efficient and effective,” he said.

He was speaking at the signing ceremony of the Bulk Installation Facility Agreement between BBSB, a wholly-owned company of BPHB, and BEO Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned company of Rimbunan Hijau Group BEO Sdn Bhd at Wisma Kontena Tanjung Kidurong yesterday.

Signing on behalf of BBSB were Mohammad Medan and its chief operating officer Shamsuddin Ismail, while BEO was represented by its general manager Ko Yew Chee and administrative and operations manager Micheal Ting Siew Kock.

Mohammad Medan said they would from time to time assess the requirement of all their customers and upgrade their facilities in tandem with customers’ needs.

“With the completion of additional pipelines at the end of this year, BBSB will have 12 bulking pipelines from Interchange to terminals for common use of all five refineries.

“Let me reiterate, BBSB’s commitment is to ensure efficient operations and to provide services to facilitate customers’ business,” he said.
