1 January 2018

BINTULU: Bintulu Port Sdn Bhd (BPSB) has recorded a remarkable performance for the past fiscal year, in that it surpassed its capacity target of 276,400 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU). As at Dec 20 last year, it handled 300,000 TEUs.

The increase in handling imported containers, unloaded from MV Contship Hub, is the best year-on-year comparable performance for the company – the highest registered by BPSB over the past 10 years.

The company attributed strong teamwork, as well as collaboration and commitment from its staff especially those from its container terminal division (CTD) team and also port users to such an achievement.

“Looking at the current challenging situation, which is more complex and complicated, we need workers with high commitment, positive attitude and trustworthiness in order to achieve more success in the future,” said Bintulu Port CTD general manager Azharan Ramlee.

Meanwhile, Bintulu Port Holdings Bhd group chief executive officer Dato Mohammad Medan Abdullah congratulated staff members who had contributed directly and indirectly to this achievement.

“The focus on operational excellence, business growth and customer intimacy is beginning to yield positive results. Bintulu Port must continue with the transformation process and achieve greater success in 2018 and beyond,” said Medan.
