24 Feb 2025

BINTULU, 24 FEBRUARY 2025 – Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (“Bintulu Port Holdings” or the “Group”), has announced its unaudited financial result for the fourth quarter and the 12-month ended 31 December 2024. The Group’s reported operating revenue quarter-on-quarter under review of RM219.96 million is higher by RM5.12 million or 2.38% as compared with RM214.84 million attained in Q4 2023 mainly driven by the higher volume of cargoes handled and vessel calls for LNG and bulk fertilizer.

The Group registered a profit before zakat and tax of RM47.34 million, dipped RM6.58 million or 12.19% as against RM53.92 million achieved in the preceding year corresponding quarter. The expenditure during the quarter under review of RM185.26 million is higher by RM9.56 million compared to RM175.70 million in Q4 2023 mainly on manpower cost.

Bintulu Port has also declared a fourth interim single-tier dividend of 5.00 sen per share payable on 16 th April, 2025. The total dividend declared for the financial year 2024 is 15 sen, higher than the 12 sen of the corresponding previous year.

Looking at the 12-month unaudited result for the financial year ended 31 December 2024, the Group reported a revenue growth from operation of 8.19% from RM765.58 million in 2023 to RM828.30 million in 2024 contributed by increased volume of cargoes and vessel calls for LNG, bulk fertilizer, supply based activities and samalaju cargoes. The unaudited after-tax profit rose by an impressive 22.73%, climbing from RM125.06 million in 2023 to RM153.48 million in 2024.

Looking ahead, the Group will focus on operational efficiency and cost-competitiveness to ensure the adverse risk from the economic policy shift which potentially reignites the US-China trade tensions, forcing supply chain restructuring and cargo flow rerouting.

The handling of cargoes and vessel calls for LNG will still continue to remain as the main revenue contributor to the Group. The commencement of handling of cargoes and vessel calls for Methanol since December 2024 is expected to further contribute positively to the Group’s growth in 2025.
