WHAT IS WHISTLEBLOWING?

Whistleblowing is a specific means by which an employee or stakeholders can report or disclose through established channels, genuine concerns about improper conduct in the BPHB Group of Companies.

WHO CAN BE A WHISTLEBLOWER?

Whistleblowing is any employee (or group of employees) of BPHB Group or members of the public including vendors, contractors or customers makes a disclosure against an employee of the Company about an actual, suspected or anticipated improper conduct or illegal activities within the Group.

OBJECTIVES OF THE POLICY

  • This policy is to provide an avenue for all employees of BPHB and members of the public to disclose any improper conduct in accordance with the procedures as provided for under this Policy;
  • To enable Management and Board of Directors to be informed at an early stage about acts of misconduct of its employees;
  • To reassure employees that they will be protected from punishment or unfair treatment for disclosing concerns in good faith in accordance with this procedure (to provide protection for employees and members of the public who report such allegations);
  • To help develop a culture of openness, accountability and integrity;
  • Encourages directors and employees to maintain high ethical standards;

INFORMATION REQUIRED

Whistleblower is encouraged to report to the Appointed Officer by providing the following information:

  • Details of the person(s) involved;
  • Details of the allegation;
  • Nature of the allegation;
  • Where and when the alleged misconduct/wrong doing took place;
  • Other relevant information; and
  • Any supporting evidence if available

WHAT TO DISCLOSE?

Any improper conduct (misconduct or criminal offence) such as fraud, corruption, bribery, failure to comply with legal or regulatory obligation, miscarriage of justice, endangerment of an individual’s health and safety, sexual harassment;; and concealment of any or a combination of the above.

HOW TO DISCLOSE

Filling up the Whistleblower Report Form, Email, E-form or through writing.

SAFEGUARDS

All information will be treated in a confidential and sensitive manner. Reasonable steps will be taken so that any individual making a disclosure will retain their anonymity unless they agree otherwise.

ADVISORY

If an employee is unsure whether a particular act or omission constitutes a wrongdoing under this Policy, he or she is encouraged to seek advice or guidance from the appointed officer.

THE DO’s

  • Immediately make a note of your concerns;
  • Gather information that is available as evidence to the act;
  • Be responsible and factual in every statement;
  • Convey concerns to the appropriate authority;

THE DON’T’s

  • Do nothing;
  • Don’t be afraid of raising your concerns as they will be treated sensitively and with utmost confidential;
  • Approach or accuse any individual personally;
  • Be an investigator; serve as a witness to the act only
