23 August 2017

BINTULU: Group Chief Executive Officer of Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad, Datuk Mohammad Medan Abdullah, yesterday handed over the state and national flags to chief operating officers of its subsidiaries Bintulu Port Sdn Bhd ( BPSB), Biport Bulkers Sdn Bhd ( BBSB) and Samalaju Industrial Port Sdn Bhd (SIPSB).

The handing- over ceremony was held in conjunction with the celebration of the ‘ Bulan Kemerdekaan’ and Hari Malaysia 2017. It was a symbolic gesture to emphasise the importance of nurturing the patriotic spirit among the Group’s employees.

“This year’s theme of ‘Negaraku Sehati Sejiwa’ highlights the importance of embracing the multiracial and multi-religious nature of our nation and for all Malaysians to understand and respect each other and the importance of maintaining national unity to ensure a resilient future, which is stable and secure.

“This spirit needs to be nurtured among the employees of Bintulu Port Group. One way to do is to fly the national and state flags within the premises,” said Medan.

He also mentioned that the major industrial undertakings, such as the development of Bintulu Port, could only be done when there is stability and good economic progress.

Medan also urged the employees to work together to ensure that Bintulu Port Group remains prosperous and to always strive to achieve operational excellence.

Bintulu Port will be sending 40 staff to participate in the Merdeka parade in conjunction with the Sarawak state-level 2017 Independence Day celebration on August 31 at Bintulu Civic Centre which will be joined by other companies and agencies throughout Sarawak.
