Phnom Penh - On the morning of October 5, 2025, a four-institution delegation from Sarawak State, Malaysia arrived for an official visit to Cambodia, receiving a warm welcome from Dr. Osman Hassan, Minister Delegate in charge of Special Missions, at Techo International Airport.
The delegation consists of representatives from:

The delegation is led by Datuk Dr. Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Deputy Minister to the Premier's Office of Sarawak State, Malaysia.
Visit Objectives (October 5-9, 2025)
The delegation's visit aims to study various investment opportunities, including:
Rice and Paddy Procurement: Study direct rice purchasing from Cambodia. Previously, Sarawak imported nearly 20 million tons of rice through Malaysia's monopoly company Bernas, but the state plans to request the Malaysian government for direct rice imports.
Rice Milling Investment: Explore establishing rice milling facilities for rice export to Malaysia and international markets.
Cashew Processing: Study investment in cashew nut processing and packaging facilities for export to Sarawak, Malaysia, and international markets.
Oil and Gas Supply: Examine Cambodia's oil and gas supply capabilities.
Infrastructure Investment: Investigate transportation infrastructure investments along the Techo Funan Canal network and port sector investments.

This important visit follows discussions between Prime Minister Hun Manet and Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, Chairman of RISEAP and Premier of Sarawak State, on December 7, 2024, regarding development cooperation and investment opportunities in Cambodia.
