BINTULU PORT: SEVERAL SECTORS SET TO BE VITAL CONTRIBUTORS TO PORT DEVELOPMENT

KUALA LUMPUR, April 30 (Bernama) -- According to Bintulu Port Holdings Bhd (BPHB), several sectors will significantly contribute to port operations and development, including methanol plant operations in Kidurong, biomass exports, increased handling of roll-on/roll-off vessels (RORO), cement, and coal.

In its 28th annual general meeting today, the company shared that its cargo handling reached 48.77 million tonnes in 2023 and the number of vessel calls amounted to 7,708 in 2023 from 7,505 in 2022, surpassing targets by 102 per cent.

It said the effective management and operation led to a revenue increase of RM821.64 million in 2023 from RM819.79 million in 2022, with a post-tax profit of RM125.06 million.
