BINTULU: The Back to School 2025 – Bintulu Port Prihatin Program sponsored by Yayasan Bintulu Port continues to show its commitment to the community by sponsoring school equipment for 200 students from low-income families in three selected primary schools in Bintulu, namely SK Kampung Baru, SK Orang Kaya Mohammad, and SK Tanjung Batu.

Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (BPHB) General Manager of Stakeholder Relations, Maslihah Tioh said this program, which began in 2012, aims to reduce the financial burden of underprivileged families and ensure that students remain enthusiastic about continuing their education.

“The Bintulu Port Prihatin Program has helped many students since it was introduced.

‘We hope that this effort can boost their morale to stay in school until the end of their studies.

“According to a statement by the Minister of Education of Malaysia, the factor of lack of ability has been identified as one of the main causes of school dropout problems.

“Therefore, this initiative is considered significant in supporting students to remain committed to their education,” he said.

Maslihah said this when speaking on behalf of BPHB Chief Executive Officer, Ruslan Abdul Ghani at the Back to School 2025- Bintulu Port Prihatin program at a hotel on Thursday.

Through a strategic collaboration with the Bintulu District Education Office (PPD), the selected students received school supplies such as backpacks, stationery, uniforms, shoes and socks.

They were also taken to selected supermarkets to choose the items with the guidance of accompanying teachers and volunteers from among BPHB staff.

A total of 22 accompanying teachers were involved in this program, which not only provided material assistance but also instilled new enthusiasm in the students and their families ahead of next year's school session.
