BINTULU, 24 December: The media is not just an intermediary, but the main bridge that connects Bintulu Port with the local community, especially in the Bintulu area.
Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad Group Chief Executive Officer, Ruslan Abdul Ghani, represented by Samalaju Industrial Port Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer, Sufri Bohari, stressed that the role of the media is very important in conveying the company's successes and initiatives to the community.
"The media is not just an intermediary; you are the main bridge between Bintulu Port and the community. Your role in conveying our success story, the company's functions, and our contributions to the local community is very significant. In fact, the delivery of accurate and clear information is very important to avoid misunderstandings and strengthen our relationship with the community."
"As an organization based on trust and integrity, we are very aware that every sharing from the media plays an important role in shaping the community's perception of us. Therefore, it is a shared responsibility to ensure that every information shared is accurate and balanced," he said.
Sufri said in his speech at the Bintulu Port Media Appreciation Dinner in Bintulu, yesterday.
He also shared Bintulu Port's various achievements throughout 2024, including the inauguration of the Borneo Oil and Gas Supply Base, the receipt of Green Port certification, and the establishment of Anjung Kasih Hospital Bintulu.
In addition, corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives such as Bintulu Port Prihatin and Bintulu Port Komuniti Ku Sayang have successfully strengthened the company's relationship with the local community.
