BINTULU: The launch of Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (BPHB)’s Customer Centric Centre (CCC) today reflects the Bintulu Port operator’s commitment to innovation, sustainability and service excellence.

Sarawak Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development, Datuk Majang Renggi, said that the development of the CCC is an important step in the transformation of Bintulu Port to meet the needs of a greener and more competitive future.

“The CCC is not just a new operations centre, but a symbol of how BPHB prioritises customer-centric innovation while supporting Sarawak’s sustainable development agenda,” he said.

He said this when launching the CCC and BPHB Sustainable Initiatives at Wisma Kontena BPHB, Jalan Tanjung Kidurong, on Monday.

Majang explained that the CCC will streamline visitor and contractor management, centralise customer service, and enhance port entry protocols to enhance safety and user experience.

According to Majang, ports today need to not only be a gateway to trade, but also a model for green growth and smart innovation.

“In line with the aspirations of the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, our ports must reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, and apply smart technology,” he said.

He also praised the efforts of BPHB in taking proactive steps in digitalizing operations, introducing electric vehicles and alternative fuel-powered equipment, and implementing best practices in marine biodiversity conservation.

“These steps prove that economic progress and environmental conservation can go hand in hand,” he added.

Majang, who is also the Samalaju assemblyman, urged other port operators in Malaysia and the region to emulate Bintulu Port’s approach in building a smart, green and customer-oriented port ecosystem.

“As a strategic trade hub in Southeast Asia, Sarawak must be ready to meet the global demand for sustainable logistics. Today’s CCC is a landmark in that direction,” he said.

He was confident that with the launch of the CCC, BPHB would continue to be a role model in the country’s port and logistics industry.

BPHB Group President and CEO, Ruslan Abdul Ghani, was also present.

The CCC launch ceremony was attended by BPHB’s senior management, government agency representatives, and key industry players.
