KUCHING (Nov 29): Yayasan Bintulu Port has contributed RM200,000 to the Sarawak State Mosque Welfare Trust Board (LAKMNS) to support ongoing efforts towards enhancing mosque development and also religious activities in the state.
The handing-over took place at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) Complex on Friday, and was witnessed by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, who is also LAKMNS chairman.
The mock cheque was presented by Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (BPHB) group stakeholder relations general manager and Yayasan Bintulu Port chief executive officer Maslihah Tioh to LAKMNS chief executive officer Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Abang Julai.
“The contribution aims to strengthen strategic cooperation between BPHB and LAKMNS, while supporting high-impact initiatives related to mosque development and religious programmes.
“The assistance also reflects our commitment to social and religious development in Sarawak,” said Yayasan Bintulu Port in a statement.
Among those present were State Secretary and BPHB chairman Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Deputy Minister in Premier’s Department (Law, Malaysia Agreement 1963 and Federal-State Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee, Deputy Economy Minister and Mukah MP Dato Hanifah Hajar Taib, LAKMNS honorary secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Husain and honorary treasurer Dato Dr Salihin Abang. - The Borneo Post
