| Working experience and occupation | Ruslan is a 32-year veteran in the Oil & Gas industry, having spent all these years in upstream business of PETRONAS, assigned to four (4) different countries namely Sudan, Dubai UAE, Iraq, and Turkmenistan, as well as have a stint in senior leadership roles in Sarawak, Sabah, Terengganu, and Kuala Lumpur at PETRONAS HQ of the Twin Towers. Ruslan started his career in 1990 at PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd. Sarawak Operations based in Miri. He held various positions there before being assigned as Senior Maintenance Supervisor at Greater Nile Petroleum Operating Company, Sudan from 1999 to 2002. Upon his return, he was then the Senior Maintenance Supervisor and Senior Operational and Performance Improvement Executive at PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd. Sarawak Operations from 2002 to 2006 before being appointed as Offshore Installation Manager. In 2007, he was assigned to PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd Sabah Operations as Field Operation Manager and Senior Manager, Production from 2007 to 2010. Then he was assigned to Dubai and subsequently to Iraq as General Manager, Field Operations at PETRONAS Iraq Garraf Limited from 2010 to 2014, based in Iraq. In 2014, he held the position of Senior General Manager and Region Head, PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd. Peninsular Malaysia based in Kerteh until 2017. Subsequently, as Senior General Manager of Production and Operations Management with the PETRONAS Malaysia Petroleum Management from 2017 until 2018, based in Petronas Twin Tower. In 2019, Ruslan was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn. Bhd. from January 2019 until July 2021 based in Ashgabat. Prior to his retirement in June 2022 from PETRONAS, his last position was as Senior General Manager, PETRONAS Carigali Sarawak Operation, based in Miri.
